Job Description/Responsibilities

Work with the current maintenance planning group to plan and prepare work packages for industrial electrical work orders (WO) to support both union and contracted electricians in the execution of work. Work with electrical technicians (ET’s) to identify scope of WO’s, parts needed, and the process that will be used to execute. Work with storeroom supervisor to order all parts and kit jobs before scheduling work. Assist Maintenance Supervisors by providing detailed job plans that include all needed info to execute work in a safe and efficient manner. Work orders will be planned in compliance with plant safety guidelines, company policies, NEC and other applicable codes and standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary:

 

  • Electrical Planning – Ability to identify what is needed to execute a WO and to appropriately size wire, conduit, fittings, electrical components as needed in an industrial packaging environment.
  • Making Decisions and Solving Problems - Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Documenting/Recording Information - Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
  • Inspecting Equipment, Structures, or Material - Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates - Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by phone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work – Work with the Maintenance Manager and Planner to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
  • Serve as a Resource to Maintenance Supervisors and Planner – Working with the maintenance supervisor and ET’s to ensure clear understanding of scope of work, safety protocalls and procedures, and any Applicable Electrical Codes.
  • Interacting With Computers – Using CMMS (Infor) to manage electrical WO’s, PM’s, part status, and scheduling of ET work.
  • Training for Electrical Techs – Will follow training Matrix to schedule and support ET training efforts
  • Building and Maintaining High Voltage Electrical PM Program – Work with in-house Controls engineer to build and own the preventive maintenance program for the high voltage electrical infrastructure of the plant.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Capable of working with Electrical Engineers for power distribution, transformers, and high voltage switch gear PMs
  • Capable of developing electrical PM program for manufacturing equipment including thermography

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Must apply personal skills to fulfill the following responsibilities:

 

  • Working with Maintenance Supervisor and apply personal skill set to prepare industrial electical related work orders generated by operators, technicians, supervisors and engineers.
  • Communicating with techs and operators to identify scope of work requests and be able to decide if the work is feasible/necessary. Able to communicate why particular work requests will not be executed to the originator of the request.
  • Must take personal responsibility for knowledge of NFPA 70E code and other applicable codes.
  • Act as a resource for maintenance supervisors and other planners with electrical knowledge and expertise in the electrical infrastructure of the plant.
  • Must play an active role in the development of training programs.
  • At direction of Controls Engineer, update plant infrastructure drawings to reflect added or modifed circuits, power feeds, tie-in locations etc.
  • Work with ETs to identify power supply locations, amperage availability, feasibility of running new or modifying existing circuits with no print available to support.
  • Must play an active role in developing and applying electrical system safety standards.
  • Working with Controls Engineer to evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound electrical engineering practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval.

  • Develop and support preventative maintenance procedures for electrical systems and manufacturing equipment.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.
  • Maintain working knowledge of state-of-the-art tools or software by reading or attending conferences, workshops or other training.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 2 year Associates degree or equivalent plus 3 years of experience.

 

 

Salary range - $76,374 - $114,561  

 

*Placement within the salary range is calculated based upon years of directly relatable experience for the position.
