Job Description/Responsibilities

Note: This role is fully remote, but the candidate must live within 50 miles of Bentonville, AR.

 

The Category Analyst supports the development of retailer accounts by providing actionable insights and shopper expertise to support a mutually beneficial growth plan. This role requires expertise in syndicated, panel, and Retail Link data.  In addition to this data expertise, the candidate will need strong analytical skills to effectively complete and present the findings of category & brand analyses.   

  • Contribute to Sazerac fiscal year growth by establishing himself/herself as a business partner, translating insights and analytics into the top and bottom-line business impact.
  • Lead the identification and communication of actionable customer insights around product, pricing, distribution, placement, and promotion.
  • Analyze sales and competitive trends, identify growth opportunities, and provide data and insights to fuel fact-based selling materials, Corporate Initiatives, NBD, and Category Reviews.
  • Analyze & cleanse complex sets of data to identify opportunities and present recommendations within a given category, market, or division
  • Work cross-functionally with category leadership team members and sales counterparts.
  • Develop regular reporting and dashboards that enable category leadership to quickly understand market trends and opportunities.
  • Provide competitive data, insights, and presentation formats for new item presentations and provide follow-up analysis on new product performance.
  • Develop compelling presentations to help secure customer & distributor support.
  • Utilize Sazerac’s people development system (PDS) to identify & document opportunities for self-improvement, increased effectiveness in role, and long-term career growth.
  • Establish well-organized priorities for yourself and define roles when leading initiatives & projects (RACI). Document project workflow when establishing new, best-practice project workflows to facilitate future training and scalability of the process for the team and organization.

 

Salary range - $82k - $ 123k 

 

*Placement within the salary range is calculated based upon years of directly relatable experience for the position.

Qualifications/Requirements

MUST

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2-5 years of Consumer Package Goods (CPG) Experience
  • Location within the Northwest Arkansas area (within 50 miles of Bentonville, AR)
  • Advanced Expertise in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
  • Advanced Expertise in Syndicated & Shopper Data (IRI, Nielsen, Numerator, etc)
  • Proven ability to navigate and process large datasets to produce actionable insights
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems/processes.
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, & project management skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills, initiative, attention to detail, and creativity
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong sense of curiosity and willingness to adopt/learn new approaches

PREFERRED

  • Expertise in Walmart Retail Link
  • Expertise in Visualization Tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc)
  • Proficiency in JDA/Space Planning tools
  • Experience with Alcohol Beverages or DSD categories

Physical Requirements

  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability to work remote
