Job Description/Responsibilities

The Sales Data Lead will be responsible for US distributor reported data integrity.  They will manage all master data within VIP SRS. In collaboration with IT, they will drive data enrichment and enhancement projects to advance reporting capabilities.  This role will manage, coach and develop Data Coordinators who directly support the Sazerac sales teams with call point management, route management and data cleansing.                 

 

  • Conduct PDS reviews with direct reports to improve skills and performance utilizing PDS as tool to conduct optimal performance discussions, articulate consistent skill evaluations, recommend actions and tactics, and measure progress. Support the widespread use of PDS within the Centralized Sales Reporting group. Promote and support Company culture within the Centralized Sales Reporting group.
  • Supports the sourcing, analysis, integration, and management of North America sales data. Partner closely with current key vendor, Vermont Information Processing, on data integrity, timeliness, security and training. Facilitate continuous improvement in techniques and effectiveness, and manage cost-value.  Partner with sales leadership to understand business needs and innovatively find solutions for data enrichment and refinement. 
  • Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of North America depletion reporting, including manual audits of all distributors at least once per year. Partner with IT/Master Data team to ensure all customer and product metadata in Depletion reporting reconciles to Sazerac master data. Work with distributors to resolve discrepancies in reporting.
  • Ensure sales data meets the needs of the business and enables brand building and comprehensive category analysis. Enable sales execution team optimization through data transparency and controls. 
  • Provide mentorship, training and opportunity for the individuals in the department to grow within Sazerac based on their career development plan. Knows the career goals and plans for the team and works to develop and retain key successors in the organization.
  • Manage and maintain complex master data model to ensure accuracy of US depletion reporting. Troubleshoot data discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders. Develop and improve audits to promote data consistency and integrity.
  • Play a lead role in analyzing and maximizing performance through improvements in processes and tools. Challenge, develop and improve processes to drive efficiencies and improve performance. Develop/Recommend processes that are aligned with company policies and programs; communicate processes, provide training as needed to ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement and flawless execution of all processes and systems.  Meet with stakeholders to assess needs, problem solve and creatively offer solutions to business opportunities. Serve as the trusted liason between business and IT stakeholders.

Develop and manage process for validation of sales volume and other data elements from distributors, retailers and various 3rd parties. Manage relationship with depletion data cleansing vendor, field sales CRM vendor, and any other third party provider of sales data and data enhancement services.  Translate technical requirements to non-technical internal and external stakeholders; understand details but simplify solutions

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Proven strong analytical and technical skills managing large datasets
  • Proficiency in database management, including data cleansing, data governance, and data quality assurance
  • Detail Oriented
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with project management
  • Ability to work effectively across business units and through supplier partners
  • 3 years relevant experience (minimum)

PREFERRED

  • Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry or CPG overall
