Job Description/Responsibilities

Position Overview: We are seeking a versatile and experienced HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team at Barton 1792 Distillery. The HR Generalist will play a key role in providing comprehensive HR support across various functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and HR administration. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of HR best practices, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates
    • Coordinate job postings on various platforms and networks to attract qualified candidates
    • Conduct new hire orientation sessions and facilitate the onboarding process
    • Manage internal job bid process for team members covered by the collective bargaining agreement
  2. Employee Relations:
    • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed
    • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or issues and recommend appropriate resolutions
    • Assist with employee disciplinary actions and terminations when necessary
    • Maintains constructive working relationship with union leadership
  3. Performance Management:
    • Continually seek ways to improve performance as measured by departmental KPI's
    • Administer the attendance policy, ensuring accuracy and up to date activity, and communicate regularly with management team and ensure timely administration of necessary actions
  4. HR Administration:
    • Maintain employee records and HRIS database, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations
    • Partner with corporate center of excellence for assistance with benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and communication with vendors
    • Prepare and maintain HR-related reports and metrics for management review
  5. Compliance and Policy Adherence:
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations
    • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Minimum 3 years relevant Human Resources experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
