Job Description/Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team at The Glenmore Distillery in Owensboro, KY. In this pivotal role, you will be a key HR business partner, offering strategic support across multiple functions such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration. The ideal candidate will excel at resolving complex HR issues, driving impactful HR projects, and fostering team growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Primary HR Business Partner

  • Act as the primary HR Business Partner (HRBP) for professional employees and managers, providing expert guidance on complex HR and employee relations matters.
  • Advise and collaborate with management on HR strategies using data and industry insights.

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Manage the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and screening to interviewing and hiring candidates for professional, managerial, and technical roles.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Lead the resolution of complex employee relations issues, including investigations and effective solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted contact for employee inquiries, providing necessary guidance and support.
  • Maintain productive relationships with site and union leadership.
  • Actively contribute to "Best Place to Work" engagement and culture committee initiatives.

Performance Management & Development

  • Continuously seek improvements based on departmental KPIs.
  • Collaborate with site leadership on talent development and succession planning strategies.
  • Implement growth initiatives, including stretch opportunities, to build an internal talent pipeline.
  • Mentor and support the development of HR team members.

HR Excellence

  • Lead special projects focused on performance management, talent development, process improvements, and organizational development.
  • Assist in creating and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS databases in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Work with corporate benefits teams to manage enrollments, changes, and vendor communication.
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports and metrics for management.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Qualifications/Requirements

To be successful in the role, you'll need the following qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Human Resources or labor relations.
  • Certifications: HR certifications preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR trends; exceptional leadership, communication, adaptability, and critical thinking skills.
  • Change Management: Proven ability to manage and drive change effectively.
