Job Description/Responsibilities

The Sanitation Supervisor is a key role within our food manufacturing facility, acting as the subject matter expert for sanitation processes. This position is responsible for overseeing plant sanitation activities, including building, machinery, and parts cleaning, while developing and implementing sanitation procedures, monitoring food safety compliance, and ensuring training and performance standards are met.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor sanitation procedures for plant housekeeping, machinery, and parts cleaning.

  • Coordinate and monitor sanitation schedules, perform audits, and address deficiencies to maintain high-quality standards.

  • Train and educate employees on sanitation best practices to ensure food safety and maintain a clean, safe environment.

  • Manage inventory of sanitation supplies and collaborate with 3rd-party contractors to meet cleaning schedule expectations.

  • Ensure readiness for audits by maintaining a compliant sanitation system and overseeing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) across the facility.

  • Lead the integration of sanitation practices into the Quality and Food Safety System, ensuring all regulatory standards are met.

  • Assist in HACCP initiatives and conduct regular audits to improve operational quality.

  • Act as a liaison for third-party auditing teams, providing necessary documentation and meeting inspection requirements.

  • Partner with production departments to drive continuous improvements in sanitation and housekeeping, sharing best practices across sites.

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral & written).

  • Strong planning, organizational, and critical thinking skills.

  • High comfort using technology and systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment.

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Change Management experience.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Food Safety Certification or experience with Global Food Safety standards.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • Experience in the Alcohol Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.

  • 2+ years of ISO/HACCP implementation/management experience.
