Company/Location Overview

Iron Bull Distillery is a part of the Sazerac Company. We are in Halethorpe, Maryland and offer a great work culture, competitive compensation and benefits as well as a focus on work/life balance. We operate Monday-Thursday and some Fridays.

Job Description/Responsibilities

Bio: Responsible for plant-wide controls & electrical infrastructure (instrumentation, programmable logic controllers, human-machine interfaces, distributed control systems & associated programming). Includes both simple and complex new installation; mentors, trains & coaches technicians; Makes recommendations to improve efficiency/lower costs. Organize workloads, provide technical support & manage work quality to ensure uptime and good-quality products.

 

  • Assist in the design, development, test, and implementation of electrical and control systems and equipment. Lead and provide assistance in the daily reduction of downtime daily efforts by evaluating and testing equipment for electrical problems using diagnostic tools. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during and after project implementation. Lead in the installation and assembly of electrical systems according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles.
  • Monitor and enforce all OSHA and company safety regulations and policies. Assist with evaluation of engineering proposals, shop drawings, and design comments for sound electrical practice and conformance with established safety criteria and recommend approval or disapproval. Provide leadership to enforce safety programs within the department and the plant. Develop, monitor and execute safe practices and operating procedures with employees to minimize the occurrence and severity of workplace accidents. Assist in the investigation of EH&S incidents to determine and address root cause.
  • Review existing electrical criteria to identify useful or necessary revisions, deletions or amendments to outdated material. Plan, manage, schedule and monitor work of reporting personnel. Evaluates employee performance and skill level to determine skill improvement needs and develops improvement plans to address. Creates and develops a personal development plan with manager to improve a skill/competency that will develop personal skills and improve performance.
  • Conduct inspections of equipment in accordance with quality control and assurance programs reporting all findings and recommendations. Draw or modify diagrams and write specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria of electrical and control systems. Ensure adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices. Analyze and resolve problems with the production equipment relating to product quality in a timely manner to avoid product faults or loss in production. Ensure adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices.
  • Prepare project cost and work-time estimates for projects to meet requirements. Meets and exceeds customer expectations through supervision of subordinates to deliver services on time and within budget to meet all service/quality specifications. Collaborate with all departments to identify, define, and solve problems within discipline.
  • Provide leadership to subordinates in a manner consistent with the culture of the company. Ensure all employees are treated fairly and with respect. Creates a team environment where all employees are encouraged to make a difference in meeting and exceeding customer expectations. Participates in efforts to address issues identified through climate surveys and make the Company a Best Place to Work.
  • Ensure Maintenance Technicians meet all regulatory requirements including OSHA, NFPA, NEC, EPA and TTB regulations. Take immediate corrective action when needed to stay in compliance.
  • Understands career goals of employees and works with them to develop skills that will help them reach their career goals. Creates and executes a personal Career Develop Plan with manager pertaining to identified career goals and skill development needed to achieve these goals.
  • Support facilities and production uptime by assisting in the continual development and regimental execution of a world class preventative maintenance program including but not limited to equipment inspection, lubrication, and documentation.

Requirements

MUST

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an org

  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directed
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and ladder logic
  • BSEE, BSEET, ASEE, ASEET or equivalent experience
  • 3 years hands on electrical experience, Allen Bradley PLC programming and hardware experience, equipment trouble shooting experience

PREFERRED

  • Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry or CPG overall
  • Rockwell Automation controls training
  • 3 years Supervisory experience
  • 3 years Management experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • In-person job attendance
