Job Description/Responsibilities

The Market Development Manager (MDM) will work with the Regional Distributor Manager to build brands for the Alternative Beverage Alcohol (ABA) portfolio and maximize distribution through KPIs, brand reports, planned sales calls to key off premise accounts in the Convenience Store channel throughout Georgia. The MDM - ABA will also assist distributors in POS management.

 

Location: Atlanta, GA (must reside in or near the territory)

 

Key Responsibilities (job responsibilities may vary by state depending on regulatory and compliance standards for the state): 

  • Achieve volume objectives for priority brands in the ABA portfolio. Use KPIs to ensure that execution standards are achieved in market. Monitor results using KPI tracking and provide feedback to the Regional Distributor Manager.
  • Ensure execution of ABA initiatives within an account base in the Convenience Store channel. Provide feedback and recaps on brand performance to the Regional Distributor Manager.
  • Provide retail level intelligence and emerging consumer behavior and consumption patterns. Ensure seamless retail level integration/communication of new brand acquisitions.
  • Identify, develop and propose strategic price increase opportunities that are consistent with brand positioning strategies in the market. Recommend opportunities and communicate changes to the distributors and retailers.
  • Manage market budgets, track spending to achieve brand contribution goal. Utilize expense tracking system to manage all expenditures against budget.
  • Build and maintain great key account relationships and secure great execution in targeted accounts as measured by sales drivers and KPIs.
  • Take proactive approach to solve customer problems/challenges to maximize Sazerac merchandising and space-to-sales.
  • Build the ABA portfolio to capture formidable market share and brand contribution over the long term.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant market development, sales management and/or distributor management experience
  • Minimum 3 years in CPG, alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage industry experience
  • Strong ability in self-management and managing schedule to achieve results
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights/weekends)
  • Willingness to travel and a valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to obtain a relevant solicitor’s permit in any state

Preferred

  • Experience managing beer distributors
  • On and/or off premise key account experience ideally in Convenience Store channel

Placement within the salary range is calculated based upon years of directly relatable experience for the position. The salary range refers to base salary only and does not include car allowance, annual bonus, fuel or cell phone reimbursement.
