Job Description/Responsibilities

The Global Operations Business Manager will be accountable for leading and coordinating operations activities within the global business. This role will be focused on driving and coordinating Operational Improvements, reducing COGS, coordinate solves for country specific needs, and identifying and implementing route to market solutions. Key accountabilities are - project lead for new distributor partnerships, central point to coordinate with compliance, quality, and CITE on country specific needs, working with finance to facilitate and accurate picture of global COGS, and ensuring operational alignment and feasibility that will facilitate the achievement of the medium and long term Global Commercial Plans.

 

o Ensure development of a prioritized PDS plan, including ownership, commitment and ongoing documentation of progress toward skill development.

 

o Lead efforts to help design a supply chain that supports the global commercial efforts. Identify opportunities for cost reduction through optimizing local production, changing route to market, and leading efficiency improvement efforts. Facilitate the development of an accurate COGS model and communicate and action against key COGS opportunities.

 

o Identify new methods and processes which will result in increased efficiencies and/or reduced non value added activity. Continually look for ways to reduce costs or improve service. Continuous improvement efforts should focus both on internal efficiency, along with improving the cost and effectiveness of the service we provide to our customers - including: communication, delivery of goods, strategic partnerships, and systems improvements.

 

o Coordinate global operations to accomplish production and distribution requirements within guidelines for safety, quality, budgetary, service and compliance. Plan and implement operational improvements working with team members on joint problem-solving techniques. Drive production efficiency and costs; plans and organizes, directs improvements utilizing corrective action techniques. Establish best in class methods which drive established efficiency and quality goals.

 

o Help guide the operations team, to provide superior customer service at all points of the supply chain from receipt of customer orders through delivery of product and receipt of payments. Accomplish this through accurate, concise and timely communication with everyone in the Supply Chain. Continually work to better understand each customer's needs and identify ways to better meet changing market conditions and requirements. Partner with global marketing managers on ensuring that we have key operational plans in place to support brand plans.

 

o Lead the operations portion of global projects. Help coordinate with various centralized functions (compliance, quality, tax, etc...) on ensuring expectations on the projects are clear. Utilize project management tools to ensure there are clear expectations on objectives, clear communication, and on demand report out of progress and next steps. Projects can include new distributor take on's, route to market changes, new product launches.

 

o Coordinate the integration of data with global partners to drive visibility to forecast, inventory, depletions, and other supply chain activities. Work with the centralized teams to ensure that the product is produced and in market at the appropriate levels to avoid all out of stocks. Work with demand and supply planning to ensure that forecasts are loaded, and the supply plan is sufficient to keep the global markets in stock, but not overstocked.

 

o Ensure that we have the right route to market solutions with all of our global partners. This includes production locations (both US and global), transportation, warehousing, and data integration - up to and including the implementation of VMI with key global partners. Work with the Global Commercial team to ensure that the fulfillment process allows the company to achieve it's commercial plan.

 

o Ensure that we are keeping the right inventory levels in both Sazerac warehouses as well as customer warehouses. Work with key customers on integrating forecast and inventory data into Sazerac systems for better visibility and planning. Lead the implementation and sustainment of VMI with key customers.

 

o Deliver significant cost savings and COGS reductions by leading cost savings projects and initiatives with the broader team with a particular focus on reducing freight and logistics expenses. Lead cross functional initiatives to drive overall cost savings for the global business.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an org

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organization, prioritization, & project management skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • 3 years Management experience
  • 5 years relevant experience (minimum)

PREFERRED

  • 5 years of Supply Chain Experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel (up to 25%)
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
