Company/Location Overview

Iron Bull Distillery is a part of the Sazerac Company.  We are in Halethorpe, Maryland and offer a great work culture, competitive compensation and benefits as well as a focus on work/life balance.  We are currently searching for a professional and reliable Materials Coordinator to join our team.   This is a newly created position at IBD.  Ideal candidates will be able to multi-task, stay organized, and communicate within all levels of the organization.  

Job Description/Responsibilities

Overview:  The Materials Coordinator is responsible for maintaining adequate on hand inventories of production components (bottles, closures, labels, etc.) to support planning and manufacturing. Tasks involved include: determining releases to suppliers for component deliveries, scheduling loads of empty case goods, conducting and reconciling cycle counts, maintain records of all obsolete items. As well as building relationships between the organization and suppliers.

 

  • Create a personal development plan with the assistance of the Production Planner to improve skills/competencies that will develop individual skills and improve performance. Improve at least one skill each year as agreed with your manager. This will benefit professional growth as well as the company's success. Ensure compliance with company Work Rules and Policies while maintaining a positive, team-oriented work environment. Deliver on performance against outcomes. Ensure adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental Policies and Practices.
  • Work with the Production Planner and Distribution Supervisor to review obsolete and no-demand inventory and keep adequate levels of safety stock in inventory.
  • Articulate career interests and goals, utilizing the CDS to determine training needs and identify curriculum, programs, and content to prepare for career opportunities within the company. Troubleshoot departmental issues on a timely basis. Perform quality decision-making to demonstrate leadership potential.
  • Conduct regular and full analysis of dry supplies inventory levels to support planning; utilize analysis of inventory levels to determine timely material releases, per contractual terms, ensuring adequate supply. Maintain records of obsolete dry supplies inventories. Run exception reports to ensure dry supplies are adequate for production forecasts.
  • Utilize the priority system to focus on a few key priorities that will grow the company faster. Enter updates to priorities and tasks on a timely basis. Establish well-organized priorities as mutually defined with Departmental Leadership and ensure updates to priorities/tasks on a timely basis. Demonstrate flexibility about priority changes and time/importance-sensitive issues that will arise while not allowing other priority items to suffer.
  • Ensure documentation of purchase, data entry, and inventory of raw materials & other supplies are accurately maintained, with results properly balanced and filed. Initiate and complete required reports, such as daily and Month/Year-End Inventories, cycle counts, waste, transfers, and work orders. Complete inbound and outbound shipment paperwork and system transactions according to DOT standards and regulations. Identify, analyze, and correct errors on all transactions. Investigate large discrepancies and waste losses.
  • Support new business development by coordinating the receipt of materials with the production schedule.
  • Meet internal and external customer requirements by ensuring that raw materials are available to meet the production schedule and to satisfy customer requests. Provide forecasts to suppliers,  weekly material releases, order bulk supplies, and expedite shipments.  Manage outside services for repacks and inter-company transfers.

Requirements

MUST

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Self-motivated, innovative and solution-oriented mindset
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directed
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
    • Intermediate Excel experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • High attention to detail

PREFERRED

  • Associates degree in a business related field
  • Forklift Certification
  • 3 years Supply Chain Experience
  • 3 years Experience in manufacturing software (ERP, MRP, MPS, WMS)
  • 3 years relevant experience (minimum)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 25 pounds without assistance

This position is on day shift. Monday-Thursday 7:00am-5:00pm with occasional Fridays
