Job Description/Responsibilities

Maintenance Supervisor supervises the mechanics and electricians to efficiently operate distillery, bottling and packaging lines. Responsible for anticipating and communicating relevant issues to the Maintenance Manager.

 

  • Supports BTD operations in accomplishing the production needs within safety, quality, budgetary and regulatory guidelines by ensuring timely and efficient maintenance of all bottling line and related equipment. Plans and implements operational and mechanical improvements. Assesses, analyzes, troubleshoots and determines solutions to mechanical problems, to support productivity of Maintenance Teams. Contributes to the planning and evaluation of line changes. Provides direction to the installation and modification of equipment.
  • Ensures adherence to applicable manufacturing standards. Analyzes and resolves quality problems relating to the Maintenance Department. Ensure equipment is set up, installed and maintained in such a manner that results in complete compliance with package specifications. Ensure adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices.
  • Understand and comply with safety requirements of position; keep safety top of mind at all times and prevent co-workers from working unsafely. Report all safety concerns and all accidents and near misses immediately. Participate in safety inspections and accident investigations.Keep workplace clean and free of debris at all times
  • Understand and work with established standards to deliver the highest and most consistent levels of excellent customer service.
  • Ensure production efficiency within cost standards.Tracks efficiencies and production data to improve yields and output. Helps prepare and manage annual and longer term operating plans to reduce costs without sacrificing quality or quantity. Assists in annual budget preparation for the Maintenance Department.

  • Provides instruction and technical training to Maintenance Technicians, mechanics and operators on equipment, procedures, and improving skill levels. Creates and develops a personal development plan with the Maintenance Manager to improve a skill/competency that will develop personal skills and improve performance.
  • Coach employees to improve skills and performance in the Maintenance Department. Motivate and manage employees to produce quality products within quality and efficiency guidelines. Evaluate employee performance and skill level to determine skill improvement needs and develop improvement plans to address. Create and develop a personal development plan with Director of Operations to improve a skill/competency that will develop personal skills and improve performance. Improve at least one skill each year as agreed with manager. Deliver on performance against outcome

Qualifications/Requirements

MUST

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Good vision and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • 3 years relevant experience (minimum)

PREFERRED

  • Familiar with beverage processing and its associated equipment
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • 4 years Experience designing and/or implementing OSHA, HACCP, USDA programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to work in wet, humid conditions (non-weather)
  • Ability to work with the risk of electrical shock
  • Ability to work with vibration from a specific tool
  • Noise level at work station is loud (metal can manufacturing, large earth moving equipment)
  • Ability to work overtime if necessary
  • Ability to pay attention to detail

  • In-person job attendance

Working hours are 6pm-6am on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule
