Company/Location Overview

The Glenmore Distillery has been a fixture in the Owensboro Community since the late 1800s. During Prohibition, The Glenmore Distillery was fortunate enough to be one of four distilleries in the country allowed to operate on a limited scale for medicinal necessity.

 

In March of 2009 the Sazerac Company purchased the distillery and reprised the name The Glenmore Distillery. The distillery boasts one of the largest and most modern bottling facilities in the country and continues to be a sizable employer in the city of Owensboro, KY.

Job Description/Responsibilities

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources team at The Glenmore Distillery. In this role, you will serve as a key HR business partner, providing strategic HR support and guidance across various functions, including recruitment, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, and HR administration. The ideal candidate will excel in handling complex HR issues, drive impactful HR projects, and foster the development and growth of team members while thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

Primary HR Business Partner 

  • Serve as the main HRBP contact for professional employees and managers, offering expert guidance on complex HR issues and employee relations. 
  • Advise and partner with management on intricate HR matters based on data and industry trends. 

Recruitment and Onboarding 

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring candidates for professional, managerial, and technical roles. 

Employee Relations & Culture 

  • Lead and resolve complex employee/labor relations issues, conduct investigations, offer solutions for resolution and closure. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed. 
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with site and union leadership. 
  • Take an active role in driving and coordinating "Best Place to Work" engagement and culture committee action plans and initiatives. 

Performance Management & Development 

  • Continuously seek ways to improve performance as measured by departmental KPIs. 
  • Partner with site leadership in developing and executing both formal and informal talent development processes to elevate current performance and enhance succession planning. 
  • Build an internal pipeline of talent by implementing structured stretch opportunities and other growth initiatives to prepare employees for future advancement. 
  • Mentor HR team members, fostering their professional growth. 

HR Excellence 

  • Drive and manage special projects related to performance management, talent management, succession planning, process improvements, and organizational development. 
  • Support the creation and implementation of HR policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS database in compliance with company policies and regulations. 
  • Partner with the corporate center of excellence for benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and vendor communication. 
  • Prepare and maintain HR-related reports and metrics for management review. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations. 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives. 

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required 
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years’ relevant Human Resources or labor relations experience 
  • Certifications: HR certifications preferred  
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR trends, exceptional leadership, communication, adaptability, and critical thinking abilities.  
  • Change Management: Proven ability to manage and drive change effectively
