Job Description/Responsibilities

The Procurement Manager - Buzzballz (BZB) is responsible for procurement and inventory management of all ingredients in support of production across all BuzzBallz functions. Develops and implement effective sourcing strategies including supplier selection, Supplier development, ingredient quality, Supplier service, Ingredient costs, Ingredient innovation and risk management. This position is responsible for leading continuous improvement of supplier performance.

 

o Analyze demand and manage supply to ensure optimal inventory service levels are achieved in support of manufacturing plans. Review inventory levels and manage potential obsolesces. Major outcome is to allow operational functionality while maintaining inventory levels that do not tie up company resources in storage and dollars. Identify, develop and implement cost improvement strategies with key company suppliers. Build long-term strategic relationships and look for joint improvement opportunities.

o Develop a priorities PDS plan with clear tangible signs and measurement tools in place to assess personal progress. Make regular skill development updates in the system to document learning and development.

o Develop and implement effective ingredient sourcing strategies in support of the Sazerac strategic plan, generating bottom-line material / product cost improvement year-over-year. Lead and direct the proactive management an understanding of related industry best practices and technology trends. Ensure benchmarking is in place and provide insight. Drive supplier quality improvement using the SNCR / DMR Process, ensure accountability. Ensure all supplier qualification are completed and maintained. Food safety is paramount importance.

o Ensure that the BOM's are accurate and are timely prepared for any new brands and for existing brands. Work closely with the Manufacturing teams to achieve objectives, Cost. Quality Service and inventory. Work closely with the marketing and product development teams of new products and brands.

o Provide detailed costing information for all ingredients to our Accounting and MCS team manages the assigned commodity and category contracts. Ensure sourcing events are planned and executed and contracts executed accordingly. Develop and implement strategies that drive performance improvement and minimize supply risk.

o Engage in career development discussions with manager to communicate career aspirations and identify skill development needs to achieve career goals.

o Secure information from suppliers and provide needed information to comply with the Bioterrorism Act to the Sazerac internal team as required.

Qualifications/Requirements

MUST

o Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)

o Strong analytical and technical skills

o Strong interpersonal skills

o Bachelor's Degree

o Experience in process design, implementation and improvement

o 2 years Experience in manufacturing software (ERP, MRP, MPS, WMS)

o 5 years Experience with inventory control, perpetual inventory and budget process.

o 5 years experience in purchasing materials for food/beverage/ or packaged goods manufacturing

 

PREFERRED

o APICS Certification or Six Sigma Certification

o MBA

o Participation in CSCMP and/or ISM

o Food Science or related degree

o Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry or CPG overall

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

o Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting
