Job Description/Responsibilities

The Social Strategy & Engagement Manager is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role on Sazerac's global communications team, acting as the functional leader for the social media discipline at Sazerac.

 

The right candidate brings category leadership and strategic insight to all efforts, and plays a lead role on social work plans, staffing, innovation, industry insights, and new platforms and tools. She/He/They is a trusted voice and a collaborative team member who can work closely with a variety of team leaders to produce integrated brand work. She/He/They will oversee and execute interactions with consumers on social media and online platforms through implementing content strategies and moderating brand-related online communities.

 

As the Social Strategy & Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of all owned social content across Sazerac’s various brand accounts and platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and others). This person should be obsessed with culture and eager to find nimble, efficient ways to earn eyeballs and reach our consumers on social media.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead Communication & Engagement Strategies
    Develop and implement communication and engagement strategies across multiple brands and social media platforms to effectively reach and engage diverse audiences.
  • Social Landscape Monitoring & Activation
    Continuously assess the social landscape to identify, recommend, and activate social-first programs aligned with brand content, cultural moments, and consumer interests.
  • Social Media Best Practices
    Evolve and refine social media guidelines and processes, ensuring consistency in brand voice and tone. Oversee implementation across the team.
  • Content Calendar & Community Engagement
    Build brand affinity by developing and maintaining social media content calendars. Create, edit, plan, publish, and share engaging content aligned with brand strategy.
  • Paid Social Media Execution
    Collaborate with the paid media team to implement paid social media campaigns. Oversee or create social content used in paid campaigns.
  • Performance Analytics & Reporting
    Analyze and report on the impact of both organic and paid social media campaigns. Collaborate with the media team on performance insights.
  • Influencer Strategy & Execution
    Lead influencer strategy development and execution for priority brands. Track, analyze, and report on campaign effectiveness, translating data into actionable insights for future initiatives.
  • Industry Trends & Tools
    Monitor social media tools and applications; recommend tools and platforms to support evolving team needs and capabilities.
  • Team Leadership
    Manage and develop a team of three direct reports through coaching, feedback, and workplan management.
  • Agency Partnership Management
    Oversee agency partners as needed, ensuring alignment and quality execution of deliverables.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or related field
  • 8+ years relevant social media experience
  • Expertise using tools to measure social media ROI and create reporting (Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, and Google Analytics, etc.)
  • Expertise using content management tools such as HeyOrca, Sprout Social, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram
  • Advanced understanding of Influencer programming and engagement metrics and relevant tools (Tagger, etc.)
  • Innovation identifier and action taker who stays ahead of the curve on new social media trends and best practices
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated active learner with the ability to make independent observations, "connect the dots" and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on a team as well as self-directed
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature
  • Strong ability in self-management and ability to prioritize against multiple deadlines to achieve results
  • Computer skills, including Word and Excel in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Agency experience or experience working on multiple brands at a single time a plus!
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%)
