Job Description/Responsibilities

The Director of Sales, Liquor is a key leader of the National Account, Off-Premise team. The individual will lead strategic initiatives to build the success of Sazerac brands across the newly created Liquor vertical. They will be a thought leader to help their team drive distribution, programming, and execution of national brands and private label. The Director will assist their team to build customer growth plans that lead the category and position Sazerac as the go-to supplier for growth and innovation.  The Director will build strong customer relationships and will wire to the most important decision makers in key chains and accounts and with key internal stakeholders and distributors.

Key Responsibilities (job responsibilities may vary by state depending on regulatory and compliance standards for the state):

  • Understand brand prioritization by state and customer for key brands. Work with sales and marketing team to gain alignment on expectations and work load balance for national off premise account execution. 
  • Build and maintain great relationships and secure great execution in key national off premise accounts - as measured by sales drivers and KPI's. Be seen as a thought leader by decision makers in the liquor store channel. Work to establish close relationships and execute top-to-tops within your account universe.
  • Contribute to Sazerac overall growth by developing strategic initiatives to build distribution and success of Sazerac brands in national off premise accounts. Identify key national off premise accounts, develop strong relationships and secure distribution.  Monitor and ensure goal attainment is achieved nationally on an annual basis. Build customer growth plans that drive market share gains.
  • Lead team to build customer growth plans that grow market share and deliver on KPIs. Develop the team's solution selling capabilities.  Hold team accountable for results.  Become the category leader for priority accounts/chains.
  • Identify appropriate national off premise accounts for each priority brand and make presentations to secure distribution and promotional activity. Work closely with sales teams to gather state pricing and distribution information and execution/compliance. Insure pricing is on brand standard.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of National Accounts experience in CPG or alcohol beverage industry 
  • Previous experience calling on retailers in Liquor channel
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • A valid driver's license
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights/weekends)
  • Willingness to travel
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to develop customer relationships
  • Record of successful leadership managing teams
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work as a team as well as self-directed
