Job Description/Responsibilities

Bio: The Global Corporate Accountant is responsible for general accounting operations for non-US entities. This includes completion of the annual operating plans, forecasts and Cap Ex budgets, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the company's financial records, accurate and timely filing of assigned and required reporting, reconciling the general ledger accounts, and recording all associated entries for general ledger accounts.

 

  • Conduct PDS reviews to improve skills and performance utilizing PDS as tool to conduct optimal performance discussions, articulate consistent skill evaluations, recommend actions and tactics, and measure progress. Support the widespread use of PDS within the finance organization. Promote and support Company culture within the finance organization.
  • Utilize CDS system to identify training needs and design development curriculum, programs and content for the purpose of preparing for career opportunities within the company. Provide feedback to manager regarding on-the-job learning opportunities.
  • Oversee and record transactions within our ERP throughout the month for RoW entities with accuracy, ensuring they are submitted on a timely basis. Evaluate and record assets, liabilities, equity, P&L activity, including intercompany transactions, as needed. Prepare reports requested by internal customers.
  • Identify simplification of processes and transparency of information while assisting to implement the improvement.
  • Maintain ERP data and controls, including ensuring account conventions are in accordance with Sazerac accounting policies. Prepare quality Balance Sheet reconciliations for all RoW entities.
  • In collaboration with the Process Improvement Manager, the Finance & Accounting team and other client groups, develop the skills necessary to identify process improvement opportunities and to be able to improve processes on your own.
  • Provide information required by external auditors. Ensure that all entries and work-papers are in compliance with local GAAP. Prepare local statutory financial statements as needed for local annual audit. Note if internal controls are working as intended and if not, propose changes in those controls.
  • Lead the process for creation of additional Global reporting entities. Liaise with Sazerac Tax to ensure transaction flows are in accordance with any intended tax planning.

Qualifications/Requirements

MUST

  • Skilled in MS Outlook, Powepoint, Excel, Word
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directed
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • 1 year relevant experience (minimum)
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting

PREFERRED

  • Innovative, analytical, solution-oriented mindset with problem solving and strategic thinking skills to evaluate and provide actionable insights
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
  • Professional designation CPA, CTP, or CFA
