Job Description/Responsibilities

The Inventory Planner is responsible for managing inventory across control state/customer warehouses and Sazerac facilities to ensure world-class customer service at the lowest landed cost. This role builds strong customer relationships, drives process consistency, and identifies opportunities to reduce supply chain costs while improving profitability.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory in control state, customer-owned, and Sazerac-owned warehouses, ensuring best-in-class controls and compliance.
  • Partner with wholesalers and distributors to maintain zero out-of-stock (OOS) and zero cut cases, creating a competitive advantage in service and delivery.
  • Leverage systems (including PDS) to track performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive engagement across the VMI team.
  • Lead cost savings and efficiency projects in collaboration with site stakeholders.
  • Support sales growth and gross profit through inventory analysis, operational improvements, and continuous process enhancements.
  • Document and streamline processes to ensure sustainability and repeatability.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must Have

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical, technical, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
  • Effective communication across all organizational levels
  • Regular in-person attendance (Louisville – hybrid)

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in the alcohol beverage or CPG industry
  • At least 1 year of experience in monthly inventory and accounting closes

Placement within the salary range is calculated based upon years of directly relatable experience for the position.
