Job Description/Responsibilities

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability, maximize production uptime, and uphold safety and quality standards. This role supervises a team of maintenance technicians, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that support operational efficiency and long-term sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, schedule, and direct the activities of maintenance technicians across shift.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance programs are executed on all lines, utilities, and support equipment (e.g., blow molders, fillers, labelers, conveyors, case packers, palletizers).
  • Respond to and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Safety, and Quality teams to resolve recurring equipment issues and optimize performance.
  • Maintain CMMS records, including work orders, PM schedules, parts usage, and equipment history.
  • Train and develop maintenance team members in troubleshooting, safety, and technical skills.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, OSHA, and food/beverage industry safety regulations.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing downtime, improving OEE, and lowering maintenance costs.
  • Participate in capital project planning and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Develop team to ensure cross functional skills and future leaders
  • Audit work orders to ensure compliance

 

Qualifications/Requirements

Working Environment

  • Fast-paced production environment requiring flexibility and multi tasking.
  • Hands-on involvement with equipment and production floor activities, (In person work).
  • 12 hour 2-2-3 rotational shifts (6:45pm-7am)
  • Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in high-speed manufacturing;
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and automated control systems.
  • Proficiency in CMMS software (Infor)
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
