Job Description/Responsibilities

The Designer is highly creative and detail-oriented with expertise in packaging design and a strong command of the Adobe Creative Suite. They have a passion for building ownable visual identities across packaging, labels, and broader marketing/advertising platforms. The ideal candidate is both a conceptual thinker and hands-on designer who can bring brands to life with clarity, originality, and impact.

  • Interpret and analyze client briefs, transforming them into ownable, visually compelling design concepts. Design packaging and labels that align with brand positioning, ensuring both functionality and market impact. Stay current with industry trends, materials, and production techniques to bring fresh, innovative solutions to client work.
  • Create and implement iconic assets and own-able visual worlds through the concepting and execution of new key visuals for the portfolio of brands. Craft copy where needed to enhance storytelling and brand communication.
  • Design as an Integral part of the in-house creative team across PLCL needs for all priority brands in the portfolio.
  • Identify and engage cross-functional partners to streamline touchpoints and improve collaboration between teams during the transition from design intent to packaging implementation. Incorporate client feedback to refine and elevate design deliverables, ensuring creative consistency and alignment with broader marketing strategies.
  • Manage outside design resources when required, providing creative direction and ensuring quality control.
  • Utilize PDS system to identify places for self improvement in order to improve effectiveness at job and achieve goals.

Qualifications/Requirements

MUST

  • 3 years relevant experience (minimum)
  • 3–5 years of professional design experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field preferred (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Proven expertise in packaging and label design with a strong portfolio demonstrating brand-building capabilities
  • In-depth knowledge of die lines, press proofs, and preparing production-ready files
  • Hands-on experience with printer finishes, substrates, and a strong understanding of cost of goods (cogs) considerations in design.
  • Mastery of adobe creative suite (illustrator, photoshop, indesign, and related applications)
  • Strong understanding of visual identity systems and brand storytelling
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills, with the ability to translate concepts into engaging narratives
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing or directing external creative resources is a plus

PREFERRED

  • Ability to quickly learn new systems/processes
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods (cpg) or the spirits industry
