Job Description/Responsibilities

We are hiring for Full-time and Part Time positions. The Food and Beverage Associate supports the overall Visitor Experience at Buffalo Trace Distillery by ensuring high-quality hospitality and smooth operations in food and beverage service areas. A Food and Beverage Associate may be assigned to one or more of the following job duties during a normal shift: preparing and serving beverages, supporting tasting experiences, maintaining cleanliness and stock levels, assisting with visitor check-in at tasting bars, and ensuring compliance with food safety and alcohol service standards. This role serves as an important first point of contact for guests during their tasting or dining experiences.

 

 

  • Strive for continuous improvement in food and beverage operations; provide feedback and suggestions to management
  • Prepare, serve, and replenish beverages and food items in accordance with distillery standards. Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to all Buffalo Trace visitors from first interaction to follow-up. Greet visitors upon arrival and be attentive and responsive to their comments and questions.  Match their excitement and show empathy when presented with disappointment.  Demonstrate trust and integrity, and project a professional image at all times while representing the Distillery.
  • Monitor inventory levels of beverages, glassware, and supplies; notify management of needs.
  • Engage visitors and encourage them to provide additional information such as email and/or phone number to receive periodic communication from the company. Update/complete incorrect/missing information from customers to ensure communications are being received.
  • Uphold safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service practices at all times. Provide, or call for, assistance for any visitors needing first aid attention.  Fill out incident reports as necessary and make proactive suggestions on improving safety for team members and visitors.
  • Create a first-in-class first impression of the Distillery Food and Beverage Programs. Work with the Food and Beverage Team to convert walk-in visitors into repeat customers.
  • Daily, monitor inventory levels of beverages, glassware, and supplies; notify management of needs.
  • Working with your supervisor, provide frequent feedback and suggestions to enhance tasting experiences and convert walk-ins into guided opportunities.

Qualifications/Requirements

MUST

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to project a professional image
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights/weekends)
  • Excellent listening, presentation and communication skills

PREFERRED

  • 1 year Hospitality industry experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves standing
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Noise level at work station is loud (metal can manufacturing, large earth moving equipment)
