Job Description/Responsibilities

Job Overview: QA Lead will be responsible for all Quality Control processes within the cooperage. This includes routine daily checks on stave jointers, heading jointers, heading presses, head rounders, barrel raisers, head up machines, croze machine, hoop drivers, bung drilling, final inspection, steel lines, and coopering. This role will also support problem solving initiatives, implementation of new quality SOPs, and CI projects in collaboration with engineering and maintenance to improve OEE and minimize waste.

  • Maintain a prioritized list of new initiatives and ensure projects are communicated and managed in order to achieve target ship dates and volumes.

  •  This project is focused on US TTB compliance at manufacturing facilities.
  • Operate the facility in such a way that it is driven by quality and customer service. Strive for excellence in operations and focus on the upfront procedures and processes that drive the award winning results.
  • Create, Implement and Evaluate cost saving projects that will drive costs out of the business without resulting in a reduction in quality.
  • Continuous communication and reinforcement of company culture. Team Member assessment of culture monitored on regular basis via Sazerac Culture Survey and limited use of Best Places to Work surveys. Tangible results in improvement of culture scores based on survey feedback.

Qualifications/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

MUST

  • Ability to move around the cooperage
  • A drive to succeed and a willingness to lead
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

PREFERRED

  • 10+ years archives experience
  • Proficiency in cost analysis and cost optimization strategies, with a focus on maintaining product quality

EXPERIENCE

 

PREFERRED

  • 2 years of analytical experience in consumer goods, retail, or other relevant industry experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
  • Noise level at work station is loud (metal can manufacturing, large earth moving equipment)
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • In-person job attendance
  • Ability to work 8 hour shift
  • Ability to work overtime if necessary
