Company/Location Overview

Located in Pilot Point, Texas, Western Son Distillery operates out of a historic, repurposed factory just north of the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

Job Description/Responsibilities

We’re looking for a detail-oriented QA Technician to support quality and food safety efforts within our production environment at Western Son Distillery. This role plays a key part in ensuring raw materials and finished products meet specifications while supporting compliance and continuous improvement efforts.

 

Key highlights of the role:

  • Perform quality inspections and testing on raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Conduct routine quality audits on production processes and provide real-time feedback to frontline teams.
  • Document and track quality results, deviations, and corrective actions within company systems.
  • Support root cause analysis and participate in problem-solving activities to improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment aligned with company policies.

Qualifications/Requirements

Requirements (Must-Have) 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in quality assurance, quality control, laboratory, or related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document and analyze data.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. 

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have) 

  • Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Experience in manufacturing, beverage, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment.
  • Familiarity with food safety standards such as HACCP, FSSC, or ISO.
  • Experience conducting audits or supporting regulatory compliance activities.
  • Background in laboratory testing or quality systems.
