Job Description/Responsibilities

Position: Human Resources Manager – East Coast Facilities

Primary Location: Lewiston, Maine

 

As the Human Resources Manager for our East Coast Facilities, one is held accountable to, however not limited to, the following:

  • Drive employee development, making sure true development is occurring: managers provide meaningful feedback, basic and advanced management and leadership skills are built within our managers and supervisors, curricula created to facilitate development at all levels, development experiences are identified/designed and ensure continuous improvement is occurring.
  • Develop relationships and build trust with employees and applicable union leaders through consistent and fair action, communication and administration.
  • Provide knowledgeable and professional guidance to management and recommend ways to address issues or concerns, driving continuous performance improvement and development.
  • Assess client group culture through various methods, plan and take action to ensure alignment with company vision and values.
  • Assist in the execution of a sound safety program to achieve zero injuries in client group and create a proactive culture where engagement and awareness drive all behaviors, processes and systems to provide a safe and secure environment.
  • Lead the hiring process for vacancies in client group by selecting candidates who meet or exceed position requirements and fit the company culture while driving improvement in the organizational strength score.
  • Lead HR, partnering with other functions, to develop/refine proactive strategies to ensure the workforce has the talent to meet business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and with human resource related reporting and record keeping requirements, including but not limited to EEOC, DOL, ERISA, UI, OSHA.
  • Maintain HRIS systems to ensure employee personal and organizational data is accurate and up to date; maintains and audits electronic and physical employment files to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies/programs; compiles and analyzes data, providing reports and recommendations.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 - 10 years relevant experience
  • Organizational Development experience
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all relevant government regulations

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • PHR/SPHR certification
  • Knowledge of Federal and State OSHA requirements
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Change Management experience
