Job Description/Responsibilities

The Associate Production Planner supports production planning at Buffalo Trace Distillery; Supports production planning functions to ensure that the appropriate amount of inventory is held to meet customer service goals while minimizing carrying costs and improving production efficiencies; Ensures customer orders are accurate and finished goods items are available for customer requested ship dates; Provides a professional point of contact to our distributors.

 

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Help to create a production plan to support forecasted demand
  • Provide exceptional customer service by serving as a professional and friendly point of contact between customers and Company Operations and Sales
  • Enter customer orders into systems accurately and timely, ensuring that finished goods items are available for customer requested ship dates, thereby maintaining stability in the production schedule and improving production efficiency
  • Communicate with and support production planning and distribution to ensure that all reasonable customer requests and expectations are met or exceeded
  • Monitor aging orders and work with customers, distribution, and 3PL to ship these orders as quickly as possible and speed up revenue cycle
  • Participate in process improvements that deliver cost savings in the production planning areas

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Qualifications for Position:

  • Undergraduate degree

  • Minimum 2 years successful work experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to project a professional image
  • Strong interpersonal skills

 

Preferred Qualifications for Position:

  • Experience in manufacturing software, such as ERP, MRP, MPS, WMS
  • APICS Certification or Six Sigma Certification
  • Experience in development of query programs on AS400 or similar proficiency
  • Experience in the alcohol beverage industry
