Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence (BI), this person will be a key player developing insights and identifying opportunities to grow our business domestically and globally. Proactively identifies consumer insights and growth opportunities pertinent to all Sazerac priority brands through analysis and integration of syndicated data, primary research, and market and consumer trends to drive insights from the data to actionable growth opportunities via brand renovation, expansion, new business development, and marketing strategy. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit, is mentally agile, and motivated to lead change.

Job Description/Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  

  • Help establish a growing team of insights professionals to influence and drive the organization’s decision making, including creating best practice approaches to insight generation and strategy development, driving introduction and adoption of a comprehensive range of research methodologies and suppliers, and developing and refining processes.
  • This individual will establish himself/herself as a strategic business partner with Marketing, R&D, Trade Marketing, and Sales teams, Customers and Distributors. This person must be able to translate insights and analytics into top and bottom line business impact. 
  • Integrates insights, consumer and market trends, competitive data, and custom research if needed to facilitate new business development with cross-functional teams. Leading white space identification, concept and brand development, packaging development, and partnering with marketing, trade marketing, and sales for go-to-market strategies.
  • Drives an agile, analytically-driven approach to identifying and defining business opportunities for growth; Develops learning plans based on business needs, executes, analyzes, communicates learning, and delivers actionable business recommendations on time and within budget.
  • Identifies, develops and refines new/renovated products to support business growth.
  • Leads the sourcing, interpretation, and application of marketplace and consumer learning and trends to influence category and brand strategies, brand standards, new business development, sales decks, and marketing communication (packaging and programming).
  • Drives introduction and adoption of a comprehensive range of research methodologies and suppliers, continuous improvement in techniques and cost, and seeks new tools to increase effectiveness.
  • Maintains the prioritization of insights work and seamlessly handles the organization’s research needs with internal and external resources (e.g. contractors). 
  • Applies our Brand Country State Priorities to individual priorities, time and resource allocation, and the types of engagement with the brands.
  • Actively participate in improving skills and documenting learning by identifying places for self-improvement, measuring skill improvement progress, improving effectiveness at job, and achieving goals.

Qualifications/Requirements

 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be a developing insights & analytics professional demonstrating 5-10 years of experience producing high quality, well-regarded insights & analytics work, preferably in the alcohol beverage industry.  Additional qualifications include demonstrated experience in the following areas:           

  • Bachelor Degree in Business or commensurate experience required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Proven track record of delivering actionable business recommendations, influencing decisions, and impacting results
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of multiple insights tools, processes, and suppliers, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Proven strong oral and written communication skills with all levels of an organization, especially the ability to explain difficult concepts and insights in simple, applicable business terms
  • Demonstrated active learner with the ability to make independent observations, and “connect the dots”
  • Experience working with multiple third party suppliers ensuring they are aligned to our key deliverables and driving impactful outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems / processes
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directed
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products
  • Willingness to travel
