    Job Description/Responsibilities

    Position: Packaging Engineer

    Location: Louisville, KY

    As the Packaging Engineer, one is held accountable to, however not limited to the following priorities:

    • New Business Development
      • Assist the New Business Development team by designing and approving package specifications for new packaging items.
    • New Product Introduction and Product Change Process:
      • Participate actively to assist the New Business Development teams to introduce new products efficiently and cost effectively.
    • Regulatory and Legal Compliance:
      • Assure packaging supplies are approved by FDA and other regulatory agencies as required by law.
    • Cost Savings Project:
      • Identify packaging improvements and technology which will lower our carbon footprint and our cost; Assist the Procurement team on qualification testing for such items; Coordinate tests with local plant managers.
    • Outcomes and Processes Project:
      • To assist with technical data as required; Create a digital storage filing system for all specifications that can be easily shared with operations team upon request or used in the process with suppliers.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Required Qualifications:

    • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
    • Excellent oral & written communication skills
    • Strong analytical and technical skills
    • Strong planning and organizational skills
    • Working knowledge of Word and Excel
    • Familiarity with specifications and testing

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Wine and spirits industry experience
    • APICS Certification or Six Sigma Certification
    • Undergraduate Degree
