    Job Description/Responsibilities

    Sazerac is in search of an experienced quality engineer to join our Corporate Quality Team. This is a NEW role for the organization. The Quality Engineer serves as a resource for each of our facilities to perform Kaizen events, identify improvement opportunities, as well as, conduct root cause analysis and problem solving events. He/she conducts supplier audits and supplies feedback to the Procurement team about improvement opportunities and the quality of supplier corrective actions. 


     


    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


     



    • Conducts audits at the plants and at suppliers to identify gaps in the systems and opportunities to improve quality and food safety

    • Works with the Quality Managers and other department managers to identify and opportunities to improve quality and food safety systems and develop plans to implement the improvements.

    • Trains employees on how to use good problem solving techniques.

    • Conducts problem solving sessions to identify and eliminate the causes of quality and food safety issues.

    • Serves as a RCPS subject matter expert for the plants Analyze data to identify trends Stay up to date on changes in regulatory requirements and industry trends

    • Hands on implementation of GMPs, PRP, and Global Standards

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Required Qualifications:



    • Bachelor Degree

    • At least 5 years of experience driving change in an organization

    • Demonstrated success in the design and implementation of process improvement initiatives

    • Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure

    • Ability to formulate compliance solutions acceptable to both Government Agencies and Company Plants

    • Ability to travel (up to 25%)

    • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights/weekends)

    • A valid driver's license


    Preferred Qualifications:



    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles

    • 3 years Experience designing and/or implementing OSHA, HACCP, USDA programs

    • Bilingual (English - Spanish)

    • Bilingual (French - English)

    • Knowledge of processing/batching activities
