    Job Description/Responsibilities

    The Laboratory Technician – New Product Development is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Sazerac Center for Innovation and Technical Excellence laboratory. Responsibilities will include sample preparation, testing, data analysis, and maintenance of the laboratory. This position will also participate in problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives to benefit Sazerac operations. They will conduct thorough chemical and organoleptic analyses and will support activities including taste panel execution, sample preparation and analysis, complaint investigation, inventory management, and laboratory accreditation. He/She will ensure activities, processes and products are compliant with government agencies’ regulatory requirements including OSHA, TTB and EPA.


    Required Skills:

    • Bachelor Degree in Food Science or related field
    • 1-3 years Lab/QC or related experience
    • Strong planning and organizational skills
    • Excellent analytical and technical skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
    • Demonstrated sensory aptitude
    • Willingness to travel

    Preferred Skills:

    • Previous experience in Alcohol Beverage industry
