    Job Description/Responsibilities

    The Visitor Center Manager/PR coordinator is the first point of contact for visitors to the Old Montreal Distillery scheduled to open in late Spring of 2019.  This position is responsible for ensuring an excellent overall experience to visitors of the distillery by providing accurate, informative and fun tour information. They will also conduct tours of the facility, manage the gift shop and the meeting/event space.

    This role also has the added responsibilities of Project Manager/PR Coordinator during construction of the facility to assist with planning and development of the visitor center, tour route and meeting/event space. Additionally, they will act as the on-site PR coordinator for visiting journalists writing stories about Canadian whisky and the distillery

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:  

     

    • Ensure that world class customer service is provided to visitors and media through proper training
    • Develop new tours to fit the needs of visitors and ensure tour routes and information being communicated to visitors is accurate, informative and fun
    • Develop relationships within the Montreal tourism community to build interest in the site as a destination
    • Continually gauge visitor satisfaction through visitor comment cards and actively engaging with visitors and media
    • Develop strategic and annual operating plans at Old Montreal Distillery to increase visitor count through advertising, PR, and promotional events
    • Act as the onsite PR Coordinator for media visits and photo shoots
    • Compose and distribute news releases on Old Montreal Distillery brands, events, and activities
    • Evaluate monthly P&L statements for accuracy and identify areas to cut costs and drive revenues. Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budget recommendations
    • Ensure processes and procedures are in place for Gift Shop functions for employees
    • Develop cross training for tour guides and gift shop associates. Ensure proper selection of merchandise and work with vendors on best price for goods

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or B.B.A in Tourism/Hotel Management
    • Bilingual in English and French
    • 3 years hospitality or related experience
    • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours
    • Valid Driver’s license
    • Valid Passport
