    Job Description/Responsibilities

    The Global Controller leads, manages and supports Sazerac’s accounting operations and financial reporting teams and functions. This includes development and implementation of accounting policies, monthly performance reporting and analysis. The role requires the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, someone with extreme attention to detail, and to consistently deliver accurate, high-quality financial reporting. With a focus on simplification and transparency of information, the Global Controller role works cross-functionally throughout the organization to help the business make timely decisions and analyze performance. As a member of Sazerac’s financial leadership team, and a cross functional business partner to the business at large, you will report directly to the CFO.



    • Drive analysis of income statement through Monthly Performance Reviews
    • Ensure the accurate preparation of periodic financial statements and related comprehensive analytical reporting, supporting business unit and corporate requirements
    • Involvement in various multi-disciplinary teams and/or projects to support the business, including operational planning, strategy and pricing, as well as other roles/duties as assigned by the CFO
    • Responsible to direct and support the accounting needs of Sazerac’s Global business unit leaders through embracing a “Business Partnership” philosophy – become a business resource sought out by leadership
    • Directly supervise senior-level accounting team and provide management direction and standards for all business unit CFOs within the accounting organization in accordance with corporate policies and US GAAP
    • Team building responsibilities include general hiring and training employees, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, and organizational planning throughout controllership functions
    • Development and leadership of a “Continuous Improvement” culture; design and execute process improvements, efficiency, and effectiveness initiatives, and leadership of other company goals and projects
    • Help develop new processes, systems and/or policies as needed by the business to support growth, business change, and/or continuous improvement initiatives
    • Build and enhance Dashboards and reporting through PowerBI, including global profitability reporting
    • Ensure financial systems, reports and analysis provide informative and actionable information needed to support and promote growth
    • Support all financial related audits including compliance, client, internal and external audits
    • Manage technical accounting issues and interpretations, and research as necessary, for operational accounting issues
    • Oversight of, and responsibility for, the design and operating effectiveness of the internal controls and policy/procedure environments governing operational and transactional accounting
    • Ad-Hoc reporting and analysis




    • Bachelor's Degree and/or advanced degree in Accounting
    • CPA or equivalent required
    • 10+ years’ experience
    • 5+ years in public accounting



    • 2+ years of CPG industry experience strongly preferred
    • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
    • Must be well organized and able to multi-task with limited supervision while adhering to deadlines and maintaining accuracy
    • Highly effective communication skills (written, orally and presentation), including ability to quickly understand, analyze, and present complex topics to senior finance management
    • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity
    • Strong understanding of internal controls
    • Technology savvy with demonstrated ability to learn systems and processes quickly
    • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
