Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Select new equipment and packaging systems. Negotiate pricing and delivery. Plan and schedule installation. Develop a working relationship with key vendors and contractors. Work through Plant Engineering to coordinate plant wide resources and standards.. Works with the Bottling Department and Bottling Maintenance team to ensure equipment readiness to deliver product on time within budget and to meet or exceed quality specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to all Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices. Analyzes and resolves problems relating to equipment capabilities and maintenance. Develop TPM concepts for the Bottling Maintenance Department with implementation timelines that are in line with the continuous improvement efforts of the department.
  • Monitors and enforces all OSHA and Company safety regulations and policies. Leads the safety program for the Bottling Maintenance Department through development and execution of safe practices and operating procedures to minimize the occurrence and severity of workplace accidents. Ensures Bottling maintenance team participates in training and is aware of all safety rules of the department. Thoroughly investigates all EH&S incidents in the department, identifies root cause and takes corrective action.  Maintains a safety-first mentality when carrying out daily job functions to ensure the well-being of all.
  • Oversees Bottling Maintenance in accomplishing the production needs within safety, quality, budgetary and regulatory guidelines. Evaluates maintenance efficiency and costs; plans, organizes, directs improvements and corrective action plans. Manages the Bottling Preventive Maintenance Program for Bottling, De-palletizing, Palletizing, conveyor systems and related equipment. Manage comprehensive critical spare parts inventory.  Establishes work schedules, best methods, standard operating procedures and priorities to meet established efficiency and quality goals. Manages the Bottling Department equipment parts inventory.
  • Always work toward improving line efficiencies and reduce changeover times. Select new equipment and packaging systems. Negotiate pricing and delivery. Plan and schedule installation. Develop a working relationship with key vendors and contractors. Work through Plant Engineering to coordinate plant wide resources and standards..  Evaluates equipment capabilities and capital expenditure requirements for all existing and new products/packages. Works with the management team to implement new initiatives including package and mechanical changes to meet quality specifications and time requirements.
  • Conducts PDS reviews with all Bottling Maintenance Supervisors to improve skills and performance of all employees within the Bottling Maintenance Department. Trains, evaluates and develops Bottling Maintenance employees and Bottling operators. Creates and develops a personal development plan with the Plant Engineer to improve a skill/competency that will develop personal skills and improve performance.
  • Ensure production efficiency within cost standards. Tracks efficiencies and production data to improve equipment uptime, yields and output. Prepares and manages annual and longer term operating plans to reduce costs without sacrificing quality or quantity. Assists in annual budget preparation and controls the operating budget for the Bottling Maintenance Department.
  • Leads the Bottling Maintenance Department in a manner consistent with the culture of the company. Ensures employees are treated fairly and with respect. Creates a team environment where all employees are encouraged to make a difference in meeting and exceeding production goals.
  • Ensure Bottling Maintenance Department meets regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA and TTB regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with the Union, understanding their roles within the operation, and the Contract language.


Required Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Requires Supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Engineering or related degree
