Company/Location Overview

Nestled at the corner of Canal Street and Magazine Street, and less than 350 yards from the original Sazerac Coffee House, The Sazerac House will be New Orleans’ most memorable destination offering an enriching sensory experience that embodies the city’s spirited and historic character.

The Sazerac House will take its visitors through a journey of the history and culture of spirits in New Orleans showcasing the company’s brands relevant to the city of yesterday and today.

The full-time Door Attendant is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors of the Sazerac House and internal customers. Provides exeptional customer service and assists with the safety and security of the gift shop and spirits experience.

Job Description/Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures exceptional customer services is provided to all Sazerac House visitors. Creates a welcoming and safe atmosphere for all visitors.   Is attentive and available to assist visitors. Follows up/through with visitor’s inquiries. Anticipate visitor’s needs. Thanks visitors and extends an offer to return.
  • Ensures entrance to the Sazerac House is kept organized and clean at all times. Is knowledgeable about the merchandise and products available at the gift shop and daily events. Makes recommendations on merchandise based on visitor’s feedback.
  • Monitors entrance to the Sazerac House and ensures all visitors feel welcome and safe. Assists with re-stocking the gift shop and with the preparation of cocktail kits and gift bags. Is attentive to visitor comments and questions. Ensures adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices.
  • Continually strives for improvements in creating a welcoming and safe atmosphere. Participates in PDS sessions with management.
  • Works with gift shop associates and experience ambassadors to generate revenues and raving fans of the Sazerac House.
  • Assists with daily check of stock in gift shop and re-stocks as necessary. Maintains proper stock levels of all packaging products. Assists with the display of product commemorative distinction. Assembles cocktail kits and gift sets.

Qualifications/Requirements

Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights/weekends)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to project a professional and welcoming image
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in Customer Service
  • Capable of working on your feet (8 hours), sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, and squatting.

 

PREFERRED

  • 2 years Tourism/Hospitality experience
  • 1 year of loss prevention or security experience
