Job Description/Responsibilities

The Director of Logistics is responsible for the strategic development and execution of Logistics across the company supporting all production, sales, and commercial ventures. This includes efficient movement and storage of raw materials and finished goods throughout the entire Global Supply Chain, as well as the continuous improvement of our Logistics processes and systems in order to maximize product availability and reduce costs.

 

  • Ensure development of a prioritized PDS plan, including ownership, commitment and ongoing documentation of progress toward skill development. Ensure direct reports are receiving constructive feedback on their performance and have development plans to improve at least one competency each year.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the movement and storage of raw materials and finished goods in order to provide the necessary levels of service to both internal and external customers. This includes developing and executing plans for both Sazerac owned assets and strategic 3rd party partners. Develop and action against KPI goals for all aspects of logistics. Additionally, ensure that there is the appropriate level of visibility provided to both internal and external customers throughout the entire supply chain.
  • Drive productivity efforts across Sazerac that lead to lowest landed costs and world-class customer service. Lead the Logistics team to maximize in-stocks, execute on time deliveries and optimize inventory management. These efforts will require collaboration across multiple functions from demand forecast accuracy, inventory control and management, order management, procurement, and manufacturing. This role will be the primary leader for the transportation and warehousing.
  • Continually seek ways to improve performance in operations, transportation, warehousing, distribution, inventory levels, in-stocks, global SOAR and global distribution costs as measured by Key Performance Indicators. Coach and motivate teams to learn the CI process and drive engagement from the bottom up to support a level 4 CI culture. Provide leadership for key Supply Chain logistics business applications - TMS, YMS, WMS, WCS, etc...
  • Optimize the import supply chain by matching logistics capability to business needs. Ensure that transportation and warehousing solutions are executed in the most cost effective manner. Work with Supply Planning and Procurement to influence and align the purchasing plans to business requirements. Participate in the creation and execution of a global strategic supply chain plan.
  • Develop policies and procedures related to transportation and warehousing of raw materials and finished goods. Ensure team members are trained on compliance programs and monitor/audit for compliance. Provide leadership for maintenance and implementation of all Custom Bonded Warehouses and Free Trade Zones.
  • Ensure there is training and processes exist for our fleet, our carriers, our customer’s carriers, and all warehouses that are compliant with all alcoholic beverage regulatory requirements for the specific countries and locations where we are operating.
  • Lead the logistics teams towards the goal of having zero out of stocks in our customers' warehouses. This includes driving for visibility of raw material and product movement, ensuring logistics reporting, and helping to put in place fulfillment strategies to achieve zero out of stocks. Lead problem solving efforts to continually improve on this front.
  • Develop procedures and systems to manage all logistics costs across the company. Drive costs reductions while balancing service levels.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for the growth and improvement of the various groups within logistics. Constantly work to be highly organized, highly productive, and highly effective. Champion the use of company systems to continuously improve planning and organization.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 7 years Supply Chain Experience
  • 7 years experience in distribution, warehousing, and/or transportation

PREFERRED

  • APICS Certification or Six Sigma Certification
  • 5 years Global supply chain experience
